Prof. Dr. Guillaume Schull
Institut de physique et chimie des Matériaux de Strasbourg
Dr. Guillaume Schull is a CNRS Director of Research at the Institut de Physique et Chimie des Matériaux de Strasbourg (IPCMS), affiliated with the University of Strasbourg. He is renowned for his pioneering work in scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) combined with optical measurements, particularly in the field of single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy.
Dr. Schull's research focuses on the electronic and optical properties of individual molecules and nanostructures, employing advanced STM techniques to achieve sub-nanometric resolution. His innovative approaches have led to significant advancements in understanding light-matter interactions at the atomic scale.
He has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the CNRS Bronze Medal in 2013, the Guy Ourisson Prize in 2017, and the Gaede Prize from the German Vacuum Society the same year. In 2024, he was awarded an ERC Advanced Grant for his project "AETHER," focusing on atomic-scale photochemistry.
Dr. Schull's contributions continue to push the boundaries of nanoscale optics and quantum plasmonics, making him a leading figure in the field.
